Since the seventh grade he has seen the world through the lens of his camera. He creates an enigmatic atmosphere in black and white that leaves the viewer imagining reality. Stately hot-rods confidently posing or racing across an image, photos of live bands capturing sound, movement and his love of music. His creativity melds genres as illustrated with his burlesque spin to the classic pin-up girl. A perfect portrait created by a risqué dance of subjects. His inspirations seem limitless as are his talents. A virtuoso of versatility his images are sure to inspire and to satisfy everyone.
The name Vetala comes from Hindu mythology and is the demon of the cemetery. Vetala took on this name during his gothic period, a period in his life that is still reflected in some of his current work. Vetala was born and raised in San Mateo CA until age 8 when his family moved to Seattle. His father produced many home movies of drag racing and that would become his major source of inspiration in shooting pin-up girls and hotrods.
